Honestly this series written by GoodGrrl is hands down my favorite puppy story to date. The futuristic element of actually having humans as pets and modifying them as such since real animals have become extinct is such a hot concept to me and only hope one day science allows that. I mean if Dr. Moreau can make it happen why can’t we?

bath time

I had been missing out. I’d never had such a fierce orgasm before. Everything turned white; I was aware of nothing but pure intensity. I took a deep breath, my eyes closed. I was sweaty, drooly, and now rather sticky between my legs. I opened my eyes finally and saw Ana smiling down at me. “What a filthy puppy.”

I could feel the heat creeping across my cheeks again. “Is Puppy ashamed of herself? She shouldn’t be; she just can’t help it.” She knelt at my head and stroked my cheek. “Just wait until you’re in heat, darling.” I tensed at the thought. Was she serious? I’m sure I looked terrified, because she just laughed. “Yes, Puppy. All of the doggies from the club get some hormone modification. Just be glad you’re not constantly in heat like some unlucky ones.”

She rubbed my chin with a finger, then sighed. “I do believe you need a bath.” She looked at Harper, who had been kneeling between my legs, waiting for orders since he’d finished me off. “Will you get the water running?” He nodded, then hopped to his feet and disappeared. He was so graceful. I wondered if he’d been that way before he’d been modded. He carried himself like a dancer, really. Perhaps I’d get to ask him about it. Later.

Ana patted my back. “All right then, Puppy. Get up.” I rolled onto my stomach, and from there, dragged myself onto all fours. I was still trembly from my orgasm. She brushed my hair out of my face, pausing to run her finger from the tip of my nose to the space between my eyebrows. “You’re getting better at this, Puppy.” I didn’t expect it, but my tail wagged. She noticed and grinned. My ears flattened against my head, but my tail kept going slowly. Part of me liked the praise.

Harper returned, waiting at the doorway. “Miss? Bath is ready.” She nodded and stood up. “Heel, Puppy.” I knew what the command meant; I’d seen other dogs get overexcited and try to pull their masters forward, only to be reprimanded with a sharp “Heel!” So I followed at her side, careful not to get too far ahead or behind.

The bathroom was massive. There was a large enclosed-glass shower and a deep jacuzzi tub, plus a dressing area and huge vanity. The jacuzzi tub was half-full, complete with lots of foamy bubbles. “Climb in, Puppy.” She motioned me toward the tub, unbuttoning her blouse at the same time. I got in the tub cautiously, terrified of slipping and landing on the hard bottom face-first. The water was almost hot, but not quite. A perfect temperature. The jets were on low, it seemed, and the rumbling in the water felt nice. I sat down in a cross-legged position, the first time I’d done something mostly human since I’d woken up in the cage this morning.

Ana slipped into the tub with me. Harper stood near the door, watching the pair of us and waiting for any orders Ana might have. I felt sorry for the kid. How long had he been living like this, essentially a slave? “I’ll be fine, Harper. You may take your nap.” She didn’t even bother to look at him. He nodded, and with a “Thank you, Miss Ana,” he was gone.

“Sit up, Puppy.” She patted my arm. I resumed the sitting position, although I still felt awkward. I knew I wasn’t doing it right. “I’ll have to run through some poses with you later. Your form is terrible. But for right now, just don’t move.”

She pulled a loofah from a rack next to the tub, then lathered it up and began washing me from head to tail. I moved only when she asked, afraid of another session in the stocks. She was extremely gentle, though, and my mind started slowly drifting away until I was really only aware of her touch on my skin. I suppose it was a sort of defense mechanism. I didn’t want to think about what was going to happen next or the fact that I’d probably never see my family again. Becoming an obedient little puppy was easier than thinking.

“All right, darling.” I jumped slightly, jarred by her sudden speech. She stepped out of the tub and tied a fluffy robe around herself. “You’re all clean. Come on out. I’ll let you walk upright for a little while, stretch your legs.” She held out her hand to me. I stared at it for a moment, unsure of what to do. Finally, I put my hand in hers. She pulled gently, supporting me as I stepped out of the tub. I almost fell, but she caught me easily. She’d been expecting me to be pretty clumsy, I guess.

I shook my tail out reflexively, then started to shake out my hair. Ana laughed and turned her head away. “Here, let’s brush that.” She guided my graceless legs to a stool in front of the vanity. I was too busy looking at the floor to inspect myself in the mirror, but as soon as she sat me down, that was the first place I looked.

I yelped. I didn’t think I’d been given any skin pigmentation, but my nose was tattooed black. Even if somehow I escaped, even if I found a way to hide my ears and tail, there would be no way I could hide the nose. Foundation makeup had fallen out of vogue a long time ago, in favor of treatments that kept the skin clear and fresh. Only old women used foundation anymore.

I could feel hot tears sting the edges of my eyes. I was stuck here. My family and friends would be informed of my death. My parents would receive an urn full of ashes. Camille Brennan did not exist anymore. I reached up and covered my nose; a few tears escaping down my cheeks.

“Don’t try to hide it, Puppy. That’s what you are now. You’re mine now and nothing is going to change that.” She took my hand in her own, pressing it down into my lap. I set my jaw, but more tears dribbled down. I sniffled. Ana grabbed a brush from the counter and set about brushing my hair. It used to be much longer, perhaps halfway down my back. Now it hardly reached my shoulders. It was the same color as before, though: a chestnut brown that I’d always liked. I was alarmed to find that they’d even changed my eye color. My left eye was brown, same as before. But my right eye was a bright blue. That wasn’t a common mod, but for some breeds it was often done. Huskies, malamutes, and…border collies. I blinked a few times, releasing more tears. “I think we’ll let your hair grow out, Puppy. I like the wave it has to it.” She patted my head with a smile, ignoring my tears.

After blowdrying my tail, she helped me to my feet again. “I suppose Puppy is a little tired from all the activity? A nap would make you feel better, I think.” She reached into the pocket of her robe and pulled something out. I could smell another one of the meaty treats. “Here.” She opened her palm in front of my mouth, and I took the treat hesitantly. I was extremely frustrated, but for some reason, the morsel made me feel a little better. I had only ever been aware of the appearance and hormone mods, but I was beginning to surmise that they’d also implemented some behavior mods by rerouting pathways in the brain. Not that I could do anything about it.

She clasped my hand in hers and led me out of the bathroom and into a big master bedroom. Harper was curled up on the bed, dozing. He opened an eye when we entered, but rolled over when Ana shook her head. In a corner of the room, I could see a wire kennel. Inside was a large fluffy pillow and a rubber bone. “Down, Puppy.” She commanded, pointing at the floor. I dropped to all fours, feeling rather exhausted now that I could see my cage. “Get in bed.” It didn’t take any prodding for me to slip into the kennel, turning around so that my face was at the door. “I’m going to lock the door today, but perhaps in the future you’ll be able to earn an open door. Or maybe even a basket.” She clipped the door shut, locking it with a key hanging on the wall. “Sleep tight, Puppy.”

I nestled into the pillow. This was much nicer than the cages this morning. Not as good as the bed looked, but I didn’t have a choice. I closed my eyes, wrapped my tail around my ass, and sighed. It didn’t take me very long to fall asleep.
