The Pet: A Controversial Movie

pups note: this is one of those movies that if your into any type of pet play you will most likely stick it out all the way through just to watch any type pet play action one can get…This movie will bring you just that and reward you with seeing this type of fetish play in a non-porny type of film..but honestly i wouldn’t necessarily say it fully delivers an A , B or even C rating for a movie. I understand the movie probably had a very low budget but even still the acting was so poor i am not sure if any of them had actually ever done any petplay before this piece or understood what the dynamic meant. I hope they have but from my first reaction to it i am assuming there clueless. In the end though i am glad i watched it just to watch it and see what all the fuss is about but wouldn’t necessarily watch it again for any entertainment value. Its actually kinda fucked up too in the end and deals a lot more with human trafficking then actual consensual BDSM pet play which is what i thought it would be about..but hey..give the preview a watch at the bottom of the page and see for yourself..whats your review of “The Pet”? The production company attempted to hype this on BDSM web boards and forums as being a “lifestyle movie”, whilst on their website claiming that it was an Important Film dealing with the modern day scandal of human trafficking. Trying to ride those two horses is evident by their mixing up of the trappings of consensual BDSM with modern people smuggling and human organ trading. As such, they smear BDSM while providing a totally unconvincing picture of modern day slavery…

What the naysayers forget to tell you is that THE PET was voted BDSM MOVIE OF THE YEAR. Alongside Clockwork Orange and The Secretary. For anyone interested in BDSM this is a must see movie…The Pet is not told like a normal movie, it’s slow and very personal, when the leading actress is completely naked for 80% of the film, these people obviously made a commitment to telling this story. You should see it to judge for yourself…

From Unknown – Well, I found the trailer of this film to be interesting. However, I found the interviews with the director/writer and producer to be disturbing. They are equating consensual Master/slave relationships with non-con human trafficking.

And it is apparent that they are equating Stockholm syndrome with “training” a slave. I am interested in seeing this film – but I think that people in the community who choose consensual M/s as their favored relationship dynamic should be prepared for some social fall-out that may not be favorable for WIITWD.
